SA v. India ODIs

The first one in Durban is nearly done and dusted... another hundred by Virat chasing...Wow!

Rahane giving him lovely support.

With DeVilliers out... SA don't have that X-factor.. India should look to win 6-0 or at least 5-1...and cement No. 1 spot in ODIs too...

Very easily done. Extra credit to spinners. Wrist spinners are a valuable commodity. Kuldeep and Chahal are making bowling much stronger now.

Faf is ruled out now. India should go for 5-1.

Markram named captain. I am very surprised.

Why? Who do you think should have been named?

Kuldeep and Yazuvendra... bamboozle the Saffies....India are now No. 1 in Tests AND ODIs... and No. 3 in T20Is... the triple crown is within sight....WOW!

Now De Kock also ruled out due to fingers injury.

Remember Parthiv also fractured his finger... seems the SA pitches are dangerous to more than just batsmen...smiling smiley

QDK and Morkel are NOT captaincy material...

Miller just came back to the side...

I'd have picked Amla... but maybe he didn't want the job.

I hear Amla declined.

That's what I guessed... He is happy being senior pro... let someone else be in the hot seat.

Not to make a huge point about this... but I noticed that AFTER the final Test when they were giving Faf...the trophy for the series win... all the White players were on one side of the trophy and all the non-whites on the other...

It may just be a comfort level thing...but it was noticeable...

India take 3-0 lead with another trampling of SA.
This is looking ugly for SA.
Virat is in great form averaging 300+.
My only problem is selection. Rohit and Jadhav need to be replaced.

I would give benefit of doubt to Jadhav. Today was his first innings of the tour.

Jadhav injured himself.. so is out... Rohit in these conditions is a walking wicket... though to be fair today he got out to an AMAZING bit of fielding by Rabada off his own bowling...

With the ball wet and hard to grip... plus only a shortened chase... SA finally won a game...

Rahane, Iyer, Dhoni, and Pandya ... were not able to accelerate after the FABULOUS start given by Dhawan and Kohli... that was also a factor...

Back to business as usual... Chahal and Kuldeep Bamboozle the Saffies to lead India to 4-1 and the series win... regardless of what happens in the last ODI...

Maybe time for India to give some of the others like Shami, Axar, Manish Pandey a chance with the ball and bat...

Good time to experiment now.
But what a win. Historical moment. Something to savour.
If they can win T20 series, we can say tour was satisfactory.

To me tour is already VERY SATISFACTORY... taking ALL 60 wickets in Tests...and except for batting that was not fully acclimatized...India could have won 2-1 instead of losing 1-2...Now dominating the ODIs.. Bahut Maaza Aya...

Kohli says he will test the bench strength a bit...but also that the team's intensity won't drop and they will aim for 5-1...

I agree fully... as any "bench" players given a chance will be very eager to perform...so the intensity level should be just as high... if not higher smiling smiley
