Are they prepping for next year when they don't have Welsh people?

Somerset have added Jack Brooks and George Bartlett to the side that walloped Kent, for tomorrow`s match at Cardiff.

Much will depend on whether the `look` of the wicket will again justify two spinners, or whether Jack Brooks will make his `A` debut for Somerset.

Cardiff generally good for spin.

Has Colin Ingram left Glamorgan, now then?

I think he's back in July for Eisteddfod.

The sun is shining brightly here in Cardiff (honestly it is!)

Lets see if it tempts out the local Welsh public!
I predict Somerset fans outnumber home ones by at least 2 to 1!

Davies dropped fully from the squad now then.....
It doesnt appear to have been spotted here that his contract ends September 2019!
Unless the rules have changed we are now past the early April key date so he is a free man able to follow Lewis's lead from last year.....
Not being a part of white ball may well effect any new signature i'd suggest.....

Maybe he's expressed a view to move on already.

Maybe we're giving Banton a go and saving Davies for the CC. Just because somebody's not playing, doesn't mean they're moving!

Is Ingram at IPL?

Steve Davies indicated (so I was told) he would be putting his name forward for selection for the 100 comedy bash. So he must still he think he is worthy of a place in the short format of the game.

Colin Ingram is playing for Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

I see Glamorgan are still in the dark ages, no live feed today.

And given the short video on Twitter of Somerset going out to bat, very few live people either.

And, of course, "World Cup Classics" on SKY Sports Cricket. Oz v SL in the Windies 2007 if anyone is intetested.

Stodgy used pitch, not really putting in much effort are they. Crowd size not a great surprise given the train travel issues from this side of the Bridge and the football that's on.

Steve Davies’ white ball batting was very poor last year and led to his being dropped halfway through the season. Only to get his place back when Banton broke a finger. His keeping has only ever been ordinary so if he isn’t getting runs his primary suit is busted.

Nicely rescued by the tail. Can we defend it, my money says yes.

I hoped for lots from Steve when he came. I've seen glimpses and he has done bettter than it seems but if Banton starts to fire regularly I can't see him staying after this season. Needs to make some money b4 retirement. Won't do that in development cricket and 2nd team T20.

Why a used pitch??

What I don't understand they say in the pitch rules about the use of used pitch, the rules clearly state

Re-use of pitches

Limited overs pitches If possible, a fresh pitch should be used for one-day matches though it is understood that this is not always possible. Ultimately the choice of pitch remains with the County.

This time of the year there must be a fresh pitch on the square that could be used.

World Cup and Tests Mike! Remember this is 'development' cricket.
