Much as I loathe this concept, it’s probably worth its own thread.

The official logo has just been published:

Grudgeingly accepted, provided the thread is closed after one hundred posts.

Makes Change UK's bus look bright, modern and, er, designed by a designer.

There has seldom been a more stupid comment than that of Chuku Umuna who, when reacting to criticism of Change Uk's logo, responded:

"There could be no clearer indication of the fact that our politics is broken."

Yep, Chuka, record numbers using food banks etc pales next to that criticism.. (no, I don't think it was a clever point about there were more important things to talk about, but rather another tired attempt to repeat their hackneyed slogan).

I'm happy for this to stay until the policies of the board that are setting it up become so idiotic that it offends my cricket prejudices to the point where I cannot stand it any more.

I state here and now that there is NOTHING about this waste of time that I personally can find positive so I will be the 'Tom Seymour' of this thread and make no apologies for it.

(unless of course Tom is against it as well in which case I am going to be so confused as I will be agreeing with him..(Sm105))

I am against it as a concept, but heaven forbid that I should ever agree with Grockle on anything.

A glass half - empty or a glass half - full?
Regardless, both glasses need filling up.

In response one tweeter offered a different tagline:-

"The Hundred - it makes no cents"

Taking something from the last two posts I saw one that had the tagline

'Century Misconception'

Could we go on and on?

There is, indeed, no merit to it, whatsoever.

However, we also can't win.

If it succeeds? It legitimises the end of 18 counties.

If it fails? The game will have blown a fortune on a failure and this, in turn, ... yep, may imperil the future of the 18 counties.

It's going ahead any way, if that's what you mean with your comment?

Whether we wish it to succeed or not is very unlikely to have any impact on the outcome, given that not one of us will watch a ball of it.

Don't get me wrong, part of me would experience immense schadenfreude at the expense of the loathsome Mr Graves if and when (I believe the latter) the whole thing falls flat on its face... but the fact remains that the ECB is going to waste a fortune on it, so its failure won't do the game's finances much good, no?

Unfortunately I'm not able to watch as will be sorting out my sock drawer then

I'll be very surprised if that date stays the same.

I think they might find that their plans for players to be available may alter between now and the end of the season. Unless they know something that has not been reported, there will be no Indian players involved or those booked to play in the Caribbean as it is on at the same time.

Hope they are going to do an all singing and dancing 'draft day' event to hype it up. Cricket seems to do this particularly badly so there should be some comedy involved.

At least we might know who is available early though so there's that.

I'd already planned to wash my feet on 20th October. Only after that can I deal with the sock drawer.

I hope you get more company on said march, than Farage's losers did on their pitiful Brexit march, recently..

That will have already happened won't it? In about 10 days?

It'll be the long march to Trent Bridge next year. Is the Blast! Final at Lord's in 2020?
