Clarence - regardless of JO’s true wishes, it may have been communicated to him by AH/JK (more likely implied than stated outright) that a dim view would be taken of any refusal by a player to go out on loan. In which case? Sure, he wasn’t being forced at gun-point, but...

I am sure that his Agent would have had some involvement in any discussions with Messrs. Hurry and Kerr - that is what they are paid for.

He's coming back, but I am not sure that 3 weeks away at Northampton will have improved his bowling one jot.

Really? Man of the Match in a national final for 3 wickets with a number of good batting performances?

You did see that it seems though after that post I'd suggest that your congratulations may very well be a little thin on true substance.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Nice picture on twitter of Azhar Ali and Sir Viv. Apparently Viv only player to score a century for Somerset in Lords final. If only he could make the celebration evening at Taunton...

A quickly arrange public gathering for the public before the lock-down on Friday.
Following the formal media call, a public event will take place in St James Street Car Park (16:30 - 18:00) with the full squad in attendance.

What is this gathering for?

Royal London Cup Final media and public celebrations

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%2033.jpg

We started off with question from the media.
L/R James Hildreth, Jason Kerr and Tom Abell.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%208.jpg

The playing squad and coaches lining up ready to go on stage.

Trying to fit them all on stage, the captain last to enter so he could hold the cup up.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%2012.jpg

Much to the delight of a large crowd, Tom holds the cup up to a loud cheer.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%2019.jpg

Jamie Overton signing a fans bat.

Then all the players mingled with the crowd that included most if not all of the second XI players.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%2020.jpg

Azhar Ali signing a tee shirt and George Bartlett signing something.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%2022.jpg

This time it is Craig Overton turn to do autograph signing, and George is still doing his bit.

https://i1152.photobucket.com/albums/p490/cricketphotos1/Cricket%20Photos/2019%20Somerset%20Cricket%20Photos/Royal%20London%200ne-day%20cup/Royal%20%20London%20media%20public%20final%20celebrations/Royal%20%20London%20Cup%20media%20and%20public%20final%20celebrations%20%2030.jpg

And finally we have Jack Leach demonstrating his big hitting skills to Max Waller.

Am I right in understanding from the photos (for which many thanks, Mike) that Cove writes with his right hand but Jove with his left?

Could well be Roger, looking at the back of the head hair style.

Identical twins with mirror-image handedness is a well-known phenomenon (I knew a pair at school, incidentally).
However it does seem unlikely that Jamie could bowl at such pace with his right arm if he were left-handed. (Jack Leach's throwing arm is hardly a comparison).
Actually, to my eyes at least, the hair in the pic in question looks too dark for either Jamie or Roley - though the last signature on the bat looks vaguely like R...Merwe and the shot suggests he may have been lifting his pen after signing, so probably RvdM and the hair colour is a trick of the light.
Either that or Mike got the picture the wrong way round, which is surely inconceivable.
