I hope that tomorrow will be as tough for Sussex’s bowlers as it was for Middlesex’s bowlers today, otherwise I would probably have to abandon my plans to attend after work tomorrow.

If the match is still going tomorrow evening, I imagine that there will be more evidence of Donald Trump’s presence in London, as he will be hosting a dinner at Winfield House, which is very close to Lord’s. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are due to attend the dinner, although I doubt that they or Trump will take the opportunity to pop into Lord’s while they are in the area, and I am not sure how popular it would be if they go in! The likeliest member of the Royal Family to go to Lord’s tomorrow would be Harry considering he is the Duke of Sussex and attended England v South Africa at The Oval on Friday.

Rules are the rules, regs are regs,(as well as being Elton John's original name),but it is galling that two Saffer mercenaries are the difference between the sides.

OK, they may have also fallen foul of the quota rules, but why is that a problem for English cricket to absorb? At least we know where their £1.3 Mln is going.

Also, a possible comment on the amount we have to step up, if players of this quality are knocking around Div 2, as well as a genuine overseas player in Mir Hamza.

Saffer-sex?

Division Two was never gonna be cruise. The table don't lie. Ben Brown at six is a proper batsman.
