England Cricket in South Africa 2019-20

Superb scenery alongside great cricket, cheap wine and beer and amazing people, will be the setting for England in the winter of 2019-20, as they head to South Africa for a four test tour in December, which means England Cricket Fans will be able to enjoy Christmas and the New Year in the sun.
There will also be three One Day internationals and three One Day T20's to wet your appetite. England secured a fantastic 2-1 test series win in 2015-16, and Cape Town was witness to what will undoubtably be Ben Stoke's finest test innings, when he absolutely went crazy for his double ton.
Who wouldn't want to witness the fantasitc iconic scenery of Newlands, with Table Mountain as it's backdrop, alongside the Castle Lager Brewery.
Centurion will be hosting the Boxing Day opening test, following a successful trial in 2018 when the locals supported the test match with Pakistan.
Cape Town will hold their annual new year test, which normally starts on the 2nd January, there is then some debate over the venue for the 3rd test, with Port Elizabeth hosting the third test match of the series, and then the Bull Ring in Johannesburg which is to host the final test of the four.
England supporters were hoping to see Port Elizabeth on the card for the Boxing Day test, having been sent to Durban for the corrosponding fixture in 2015/16, however with that game and others at Kingsmead being poorly supported, the venue has slipped down the radar of the South African Cricket board.
Before all of this of course, England are due for two test matches in New Zealand in late October/November, with both Wellington and Hamilton on the list of venues set to host the two match series.
South Africa are more than beatable at home currently, having seen Sri Lanka turn up and shock them with a 2-0 series win, ironically in an empty Durban cricket ground, to become the first Asian team to win on South African soil.

The flights are on sale now, but I dare not commit, as I know SA would probably throw a spoke in the wheel and re-arrange.
The Cape Town test is the only one set in stone, so all be told, will just fly there for 10 days and enjoy NYE.
Good Riddance in my eyes, rather book on my own that with that arrogant p**** !!
As for Cape Town, all flights are booked.
Flying out on Friday 27th Dec, and coming back on 10th January, paid £850 but changing in Frankfurt, still be worth it for 3 of us though.

Aggers knew the New Zealand schedule a while back and said so on the radio, not sure why we are the last to know
The crowded schedule may have something to do with it but its no excuse to keep us in the dark.
The rumour is Port Elizabeth is the third test after Cape Town but a bit of a gap so people can go down the garden route.
There is some good prices at the minute, say for example fly to Joburg for £550 return, you can then work out which test matches you want to do.
Cape Town is amazing and very chesp, £5 for a grass bank ticket last time I went.

Newlands is one of the best grounds in the world to watch cricket, stunning location and backdrop. Love Cape Town, great place and SA is just so cheap. Been a few times for cricket and holiday as well.

On a side note and a plug if that's allowed on here. Myself and my partner who has also travelled extensively following cricket, we will have our own travel franchise WC 18/3 so will be able to help anyone as well and will have some info available end of that week.
Regular tourer since 2006 Ashes, and done all the set, and a few times on some as well.
Last time in Cape Town, there was 8,000 England supporters, I think even more this time round.
Need something to do for a couple of days when the test finishes before I fly home still.

Still want it to be CT though, great City and can't see them moving it just for the sake of a few quid.
We are then planning on doing Port Elizabeth (unless that was just a rumour and has since changed), before flying back home from Joburg.
Air France has some great prices at the moment!

Waterfront nightlife is quite good so is Long Street but just have your witts about you after midnight that’s all.
Newlands is a good taxi ride from the waterfront however but the way cricket goes these days, it wont be on long!
Bout 20 mins transfer or so from GP and easy and cheap to get a cab to Newlands. All being well it will stay in CT. I can't see it moving anywhere else and nor could anywhere else cope with the influx of England fans. Maybe a way of getting more money from the venues.
My flight is a return to Joborg so can book internal afterwards should it change but hopefully it will stay in CT.

It’s just them flexing their muscles, CT will still happen fior the new year test.
Normally £5 for a grass bank ticket, we’ll publish news as soon as we have any.
Even with 8,000 England fans there last time, you could still get tickets a few days before but the first three days did sell out.
That said, there is always people selling them in the bars leading up the game and also outside the ground on the morning of each day.
