StandFord Up Comedy

What a joke
By Barmy Kev
February 18 2009

It's competition time again, First of a series of MTWD captions (that are definitely no cartoons) testing our readers power of wit or otherwise. Sir Allen Stanford is the subject of this competition, with Barmy Kev offering a maxiscule prize.

Quite simply provide a caption for the photograph below (and above) - what do you think Sir Allen Stanford is saying to spectators or vice versa?

The prize for the most wittiest and/or poorest taste entry is a maxiscule one.  Unlike tight wad Ged offerings, the lucky winner will receive a free financial consultation with Sir Allen himself, if we can find him.

The ECB Board have agreed to be the panel of judges, if they are still in office when the competition closes.

Sir Allen Stanford walks through the crowd during the Stanford Super Series match at Stanford Cricke

The deadline for entries is 28th February 2009. Please send as many entries as you like.  We can handle it.

Please either e-mail mtwdadmin@googlemail.com or place your entry on this thread.

Good luck to one and all.

Heard that the queues in a couple of banks in Antigua resemble those seen at Northern Rock here last year as those who invested in his schemes and policies are rushing to get their money out.

Interesting comments from Botham prior to the test today questioning that the ECB should look hard at themselves for 'getting into bed with Stanford'.Maybe, I have a short memory but was it not Botham who turned up at Lords with Stanford posing over that big crate of money last summer, grinning like a gormless twit and salivating at the sight of all those millions? Bet he thought it was a good idea at the time. Always wise after the event.

He's saying " I'm MTWD, afterall I suggested they should be sponsorred by Northern Rock "

OR
" Would you like some 1/2 price Woolworths vouchers for 2009"

Finally to sexy female
" I'd like to do to you what I am going to do to ECB".

There are some technical problems at sportnetwork that are breaking some of the links, BP. The same technical problems are preventing me from getting into the background and fixing this feature.

One of the things I intend to fix is the use of the word "cartoon", which the photograph in question most certainly is not.

Please be patient one and all.

I apologise for claiming at first picture of Stanford was a cartoon. This I realise may have been most offensive to cartoon fans. I have been able to amend accordingly.

Irritating though these link problems are, there is a splendid irony, given the current news, that even our picture of Allan Stanford has disappeared in the last 24 hours!!

He's saying to any Englishman " Tell me about this Robert Maxwell geezer"?

Or as going round ground " Emily Prior are you hiding from me"

Or
"In 6 months time I will need to bury myself in quicksand.
Sorry wrong cricket ground."

Game text updated with a larger version of the picture for those who need a large canvas for their humour.

I think the little boy is saying "Hello, is that the SEC? I've found Stanford", while Stanford is saying "Hand over the phone, kid. My people know where you live."

I reckon Stanford is saying to kid " hand over that phone I don't want any Digicel advertising round here".

Sorry for delay in result. I tried to phone Giles Clarke , but his secretary said he was unavailable due to him burying his head in the sand at the Sir Viv Richards stadium.

So the bucks passed to me to adjudicate. I could vote for myself to corruptly fix prize. But in spirit of fair play giving it to Bluebadge for.

"Think the kid on the phone's saying, 'Hey Mum, there's this guy here says there's twenty million quid for us if we can fly his helicopter to Cuba...' "

Bluebadge- your Maximiscule Sir Allen consultation is in post. If you don't receive it consider it a bonus.
