It's Meaker, then we get Weaker but ends up less Bleaker

All too much

In between describing our fortunes of today Beefy shares his experience with crying babies and with the Sterling very low issues with the local exchange rate.

This is my last but one day of the season in lovely sunshine down Mexico way.   My visa is updated and currency changed to the Cactus at  favourable 2-1 rate. At start of play they are 230-1 according to the scoreboard.   My next look we are 15-0.

A thin edge Compo is out off of the dangerously quick Meaker.   There are two crying babies to my right who take this wicket badly. Despite this I am enjoying myself here in a ground that is more relaxed than another London ground North of the river.   One crying baby starts again obviously predicting Eski being out shortly after and we are now 68-2. Baby stops crying as we make it to lunch 76-2.

I visit the beer festival. They did not accept my 2 Cactus for a beer and had to pay £4.50 a pint as £4.00 was for members only that did not include those from Middlesex.

Just after lunch, the babies move but I can hear them in the distance but no sign of us losing wickets.  Perhaps they again can predict what was to follow. I revisit the beer festival and hear Robbo out beaten by Meaker’s pace, Stirlo out first ball and Simmo survives hat trick ball.

I’m back in ground Seaxe Man starts to sing a song about Southport revisited which prompted Voges dodgy LBW on one he was way forward and high.  Ricky Clarke is now appealing for everything. Soon Franco appealed out by RC 158-6. The babies had enough and left.  TRJ England hero doesn’t last long.  We are happy Ollie takes us to 200.  210-8 then 224-9, we can only dream of 2nd point. We ended up 247 all out with not the best shot from Murts.

The Mexicans look like safely making it to close. I was packing up Phil the Power was talking about other things. Suddenly, both openers out off of Toby’s bowling for 11 each and I leave feeling hopeful 26-2.

I also hope for baby crying free day tomorrow for my final day of seaon. But then again Kev is turning up.  Perhaps I should turn up in disguise!
