India v. Australia: Crunch Time

After whitewashing Australia in Australia just a few months ago Dhoni's men will be looking to continue their domination of Steve Smith's boys.  As the game is in India the challenge for the Men in Yellow will be that much stiffer.  

But it would be foolish to count the Aussies out. They almost all play in the IPL and would be very familiar with conditions.  They showed how comfortable in the way they dismantled the Pakistanis in Mohali, sending Afridi's boys crashing out of the tournament.  With the Indian team chastened by their shock defeat by the Black Caps in the opening game, and the way the Bangladeshis ran them close till the end, India will not suffer from complacency.  In any case a humdinger of a game is in store. And the match will be India's to lose.

This T20 World Cup has been very exciting in the games it has produced, and more of the same may be expected on Super Sunday.  May the better team on the day win!

What happened to this forum during WT20?

ANyways , coming back to topic , I watched this game with friends on a projector. Excellent game - Kohli showed his class throughout the tourney.

This was a classy game. I will remember it for years to come particularly because India won in the end with a daunting RRR.

To me the innings by Kohli was one of the BEST I have EVER seen and I have been watching the game since the 1970s...

Speaking of Lions I am reminded of a funny incident...

In the local Tennis Ball Cricket League, the team mostly of Afghan ex-pats named themselves the Lions. When I asked them why they replied that because the best team in previous years had been a team mostly of South Indian guys called the Tigers, they named themselves Lions because Lions can beat Tigers...

Only problem was their Jerseys said LOINS....smiling smiley

In this game , Yuvraj kept playing despite ankle injury. I thought that was quite selfish. That cost India a few runs. Thankfully he got out and Dhoni joined Virat.
Virat and Dhoni's running was awesome and that put Australian fielders under pressure who started fumbling.

But Yuvraj's selfish act was unforgivable in my opinion. If he had not got out , it would have put lot of pressure on Virat.

Two ways to look at it... Yuvraj stabilized the ship with Virat... India were looking very shaky when he joined in partnership with Virat.... if he went early India could have been bundled out too...
