Vaughan Adds To Injury Woes

Michael Vaughan added to England's injury problems, announcing that a knee injury might keep him out of this month's ICC Champions Trophy, in Sri Lanka. The injury will not keep him out of the final test against Sri Lanka.

Michael Vaughan has emerged as yet
another England injury doubt for this month's ICC Champions Trophy. He has an injury to his right knee which is not expected to keep him
out of England's Oval Test series decider with India starting tomorrow but
may require surgery afterwards. That would put his place in the one-day squad for Sri Lanka in jeopardy
- increasing England's injury list following the withdrawal of Andrew
Flintoff and doubts over Craig White, Paul Collingwood and Nick Knight. The opener has become a crucial middle-order component in the one-day
side - particularly following the retirement of Graham Thorpe. But he said of his knee problem: "It is a wear-and-tear injury that
needs cleaning out. "I will be speaking to the England management to see what the right
course of action is."
