Vaughan will play again

Vaughan will play again are the words from David Graveney. England’s captain has not played since a warm up game in India, when he picked up his knee injury. But Chairman of Selectors has no doubt that he will be back.

Members in the England squad have worries over the extent of Michael’s injury and whether he will be able to play again for Yorkshire or even for England. Nevertheless Mr. Graveney still remains upbeat about the situation and stresses that Vaughan will be back.

“He's desperate to be back involved and although it's hard to do because it's a media story, I'd like to think we can give him as much space as possible.”

"He will tell us when he's ready and I also see pictures of him batting in the nets so let's hope it's not too far away."

Questions are being asked if Vaughan will be ready for the next Ashes, which will be held in Australia however David Graveney could not possibly say when Vaughan will be ready.

He added, "It would be wrong for me to give a date because I would be held to ransom for that, but I'm pretty confident, as he is, that things are progressing.”

Michael has been seen doing a spot of jogging and having a go in the batting nets, which is a very positive and encouraging sign. He has not played a competitive match for Yorkshire yet either. Hopefully Vaughan will be back sooner rather than later. Let’s just hope that Vaughan’s injury heals up in time for The Ashes. Will Vaughan ever play for England again?

However the question is: If Vaughan isn’t fit in time for the Ashes then does Andrew Flintoff remain captain?
