Kimmy reports from Richmond as we rack up our biggest T20 score. As always it is a great read and fills us in with events both on and off the field. On Kimmy could do a report where she could hardly see what was going on!!. Read on...

Where to start....

What a night.... I'm afraid some of it is a little blurry... Not due to alcohol may I add, but a couple of special things that happened which I will tell you about, in the fullness of time...

So... Having had the day off I contacted the club and offered my services to help put the chairs out.. (As they have ordered 2000 it was readily accepted!)I arrived about 2pm (late) and set about (with others) putting the chairs out   (for those who went yesterday and sat down I hope you enjoyed my hard work?!)After that it was a case of hanging around, seeing if there is any more to do and watching the players arrive...

So the gates open promptly at 4 and there is a mass of people, it looks like it will be a corker! I spy Vic sitting on a bench and as I haven't seen him since Uxbridge last year I wander over...Eventually Beef, Ken, LP and Seaxe man arrive... I've bought GIlly's book (which is as thick as.... anything) and give it to a certain staff member in the hope I might get it signed....It bought back super quick, with a lovely message inside...

Still a while before the start of the game, but we get to see the warming up (and I get a great 'action' shot of Gilly..)I actually get to see the toss and hear that Glamorgan put us into bat...? Now I don't really understand these bits of cricket, but I thought if you won the toss you bat first?I remember that Ashes game when Ponting won and put us in..... (oooh I LOVED that game...)

Anyway I decide there's a few minutes and nip to the loo and miss the players lining up and shaking hands and all that but I'm back for the first ball... Although the crowd has swelled somewhat and my view is blocked but I can see the score board okay..... So... here goes.... I have my fingers crossed that I am not Gilly's jinx...I've watched the first 2 games which weren't his best, then missed the next 2 when he was a star.. I am a little nervous and vow to myself if he doesn't get above 10 I'm not going to any more games he is playing in!!!Shouldn't have worried should I?So... Warner and Gilly open against Croft, who is a spinner? And they are off the mark (I breath a sigh of relief!!) In the first over Glam make their first appeal, I hope my breath, but it is ignored again so I exhale again....Shaun Tait is up next as their bowler... Beefy points out it's Aussie, verses Aussie verses Aussie.... And ours win!! (although Gilly's first ball is a big swing and miss!!)Gilly then gets a 4 followed by a huge 6!!!! WOOHOO Double figures I can stay!!!

I look over to the score board and am busy writing that we are now on 22 when there's a cheer and I look up to see the boys in front of me are holding their boundary cards up.... Ah...a 4 I see...And they just keep coming... plenty of boundaries, both 4's and 6's... The note pad is being picked up and put down like a fiddlers elbow.... WOOHOO!!! back to back 6's we are on fire!! In 5 overs the Middle are 50 for 0... then I speak (or write too soon) as Warner is out for 13... he, however gets a round of applause!!

Next in is our soon to be captain Dex.. So we have the captain and next in line at the crease..But no sooner is he there he's walking back... I was busy writing, but everyone is a bit non plussed as to why and Dex seems a little confused too... ACE is next in, hope he can keep up with Gilly....Oh no! I hold my breath ... (again) as Gilly sky's a ball.. someone is under it but misses it and plops (I like that word!) over the boundary rope for 4. HAHAHA!!

Gilly gets his 50 with (I think) 3 6's and 6 4's....And so we move onto 81 for 2 in 9 overs..Oh no! Gilly is out for 51, but what a thrilling innings... Well done... I have to say I am warming to him... I know.... as an Aussie player I hated him, but as a Middx player, he's top bloke!!Morgan's in now....And credit to Ace. he seems to be hitting the ball well straight away..Morgan is straight in on the act and gets a 6... I have completely lost count on the amount of boundaries we have got... No idea... someone will have it written somewhere though I'm sure...And Ace gets in on the 6 act now.....We move up to 107 for 3 in the 11th over...I have a look around to see who is around and Gilly is up on the balcony with Mark O'Neill... (he's a lovely man....) And he calls out asks if I got my book signed... He then points me out to Gilly... (probably saying 'stay away from that nutter!!)

So I'm busy taking some photos and Morgan does one of those shots... Right over the scores tent OMG!! I think this might be a special night for the Middle!!So Ken starts to ask me about my journey to the ground and Morgan gets another 6 and so I pick up my pad to write and he gets another!!! Gilly comes up and is surrounded by people wanted autographs... He signs everyone and has his photo taken with all the weirdos... (note to editor... Please put my photo here so people can see I'm one of those weirdos too!! )Mark O'Neill tells me he has a nice one of Gilly and me and will email to me... (note to editors... His is the side on one...)and Beefy kindly takes up the reporting reins whilst I am star spotting.... Morgan gets 532 off 24 balls.... We sure are going to miss him and Gilly when they go, but I hope they have inspired the team...with 15 overs we are on 155...

I think if we can keep hitting we just might make it up to 200.....Ah look Kev's arrived... He has come straight from work, so we forgive him..Ace get another 6, he might not be scoring as quickly as Morgan, but he's certainly getting the runs...Oh no but then he's out! but we have moved onto 174 on the 16th over..Malan comes in to play now... His lovely girlfriend is here to watch, so I hope he plays well..No I have no idea who is getting what due to too many people standing in front of me, but to be honest I don't really care, I know we keep hitting 6's and anything else just doesn't really matter!!Oooh a gap! Malan hit a ball, the field missed it and it rolls to the boundary for a 4, well done AC!!

Morgan's next ball is huge!! Right over the pavilion... for those players who moved their cars look out!! We end our innings on 212 for 4.... What a great time those boys had!! And it's our highest ever score too!! WOW!!

You know I might not even bother to report on Glam's innings....... So I get to catch up a bit ... Geriant Jones wandered through the ground before the game started..... M’mm wander what he's doing here then..? Wicket keeper for the Middle..? Na..Glamorgan then...?

So just as the batsmen come out I decide it's time to visit the loos..... There is a queue... I'm just there talking to a certain member to the supporters when an unknown kind hearted man turns to the man who I am talking to and says... 'The gents is just down there, mate. This is the queue for the ladies...' I don't know where to put myself but manage to explain we're just chatting....

Any way I make my way back and can see nothing... none of the field of play.... how useless is that..? So I will try my best to report on the Glamorgans innings, but to be honest my heart isn't in it.....So I decided to have a look around instead, and i have to say that Tim Murgtagh has changed! He looks remarkably like Scot Newman... who happens to be talking to Ben Scott.. So I decide as I can't see the cricket I would have a chat to them...Scot says he's forgotten his long sleeved top... It's sunny but a bit windy and cooler when the cloud covers the sun..He has got the most outrageous sunglasses on... I tell him I'm changing his name from gobby (which he didn't like, even though I told him it was meant in a nice because he's very vocal on the field) to blingy....!! (he likes that more, however that has been changed to the king of bling!!)

Ben is looking forward to coming back, I mention that he seems to have been back at the Middle quite a few times, he doesn't seem to think so, but we come to the conclusion that he's only been back when I've seen him!!

Anyway whilst talking to them one of the Glammy players hits a huge 6 which smashes into a car and breaks the wing mirror (thank goodness Bergy moved his... to add insult to injury... it's one of the Glammy's cars!! oh dear!!

So I leave the boys to chat.. and go back to where  I still can't see anything!!I glance at the score board and it's showing 41 for 1 off 4... They seem to be losing loads of batsmen, but as I glance to the scoreboard it shows,...yep they've lost one or two.. 60 for 4...A gap in the crowd, I can see.... No I can't Timmy stands right in the way...... Oh well.... Cr*p report then.. and I don't really care... I smell a victory... is it too early to say then?Woo hoo he moves just in time for me to see a wicket!! Tom Smith bowling Gilly stumping!!!

Now they are 81 for 5 off 10 overs.... Shaggy steps up and gets a wicket!! I am so pleased go Shaggy go... And he only does.... WOOHOO!!!!! Tom gets in on the act too.... Definitely going to do this... The team have just come together... It would be brilliant to watch if I could see!! I'm told Gilly takes a great catch and then Warner runs miles to take the final catch of the game..... saw that too!! Brilliant!!We won by miles!!!

Well we all come together to sing to each and everyone of the players and staff as they poke their head onto the balcony... Super Ped sings and dances along....It's brilliant.....We all stay and chat and plan for the next match against Sorry....I, in the meantime slip into the bar and have a lovely hug and chat to Shaun, I thank him for being captain and he is such a nice man. He is just such a nice man, he knew what needed to be done and was man enough to do it.... a top man!!!

Fab report Kimmy, even although you couldn't see much. Don't they allow Ladies to the front anymore?

Great report Kimmy.

I agree with your comments about Udal.As I said on the other thread relating to this game.

I think Udal is a good man and a fine cricketer.

His performance in this game, where he bowled very well, just underlined my opinion of him.

Grand report Kimmy and every bit of it true. Unfortunately Glamorgan were poor, unlike LP's enthusiasm, although he was unwilling to back his claims with a £5 wager.

Well done Kimmy but you may want to borrow a helmet next time you can't see, as it's a dangerous game with the likes of Gilly, Ace, Morgs & Malan smashing ball after ball into the crowd !

Great report Kimmy. Nice to be there when we broke our top score of 210 which Darren and I saw at The RoseBowl back in 2005.

Oddly, Dalrymple then playing for us, made a decent score on that occasion as I recall.

Like you say, putting us in suggested a defensive move as he did'nt fancy us chasing, but it still did'nt work.
