Beefy shares a series of records broken during the four day game at Hove this week
I think it was 6 new records/milestones set during game.
Sam Robson...253, it was 231* vs Warwickshire at Lords 2013
New club highest score of 676-5 dec, it was 642-3 dec, vs Hampshire at Southampton in 1923
Highest 1st wicket partnership of 376, (Robson and Stoneman), beating 372 heald by Gatting and Langer at Southgate in 1998 vs Essex
Luke Hollman, maiden 5fer figures of 20-5-65-5, and then, his maiden 10 wickets in match, 2nd innings figures 28-6-90-5
Tom Haines in 2nd inns was first batsman past 1000 runs this season, also a new highest score of 156 in 1st innings, old best was 124 vs Durham at Arundel in 2018.
Simmo also took 8 catches in match (as his mum put on website..lol)
Day 3 by tea Hove had run out of beer. There may have been some kind of record of ale consumption that day in all the excitement.

The opening partnership has been broken four times now in my cricket-watching days. Before Gats and Langer it was Barlow and Slack then before that I think it was Russell and Harris (memory could be at fault on that one). This is the only one I have seen even a teeny bit of, via the live stream while sitting by the pool in Crete!
Some partnership records seem to last for ever. Five of ours are over a century old. Even Seaxe Man won't have seen them!

Saw Slack and Barlow Adelaide. Still worked when Langer and Gat set their record. Remember Russell and Patsy Harris. Missed out on Soton 1923 top score of 623 I am afraid. We also hold the record chase of 503 for 4 back in the 1920s. Will want a bit of doing to beat that. I recall Mike Brearley's Mx debut one Saturday afternoon back in 1961. Had a very decent Barnet of dark hair. Back then watching confined to Saturday's until 1963 when one dayers kicked off and I started working flexitime.

Not a record that he will wish to cherish, but Ben Brown had the distinction of being dismissed twice in the same day by the same method of despatch, and by the same fielding team combination.

I'm sure the Harvey's Corporate Box had barrels of the stuff in stock, but of course mere mortals like ourselves aren't welcome over there...
