Anderson Rested for Last Test

England have left out fast bowler James Anderson for the final test match with the West Indies, which starts at Edgbaston next Thursday.....

The England camp have opted to rest the Lancashire paceman, and have gone with 12 men in the final squad, as they look for a 3-0 whitewash in the series.

England Test squad: Andrew Strauss (Middlesex, capt), Jonny Bairstow (Yorkshire), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Alastair Cook (Essex), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Graham Onions (Durham), Kevin Pietersen (Surrey), Matt Prior (Sussex, wkt), Graeme Swann (Nottinghamshire), Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire)

Anderson was said to 'disapointed' last week, when rumours surfaced that he was to be rested for the game, given England's heavy summer schedule.

It was also mentioned that Stuart Broad would also miss out, allowing both Graham Onions and Steven Finn to potentially take the new ball in the final test, this still may be the case however, should Broad be made 12th man.

National selector Geoff Miller, explained the reasoning behind the decision "James Anderson will miss this Test as we look to manage his workload ahead of a busy period of cricket this summer and beyond, a decision which is in the best interests of the team and the player himself."
