England Hales a New Star

England have a new batting star today, thanks to a brilliant knock of 99 from Nottinghamshire's Alex Hales, as he guided the home side to a seven wicket Twenty20 win over the West Indies....
Taking guard on his home ground, Hales led England to 173-4, as they chased down the West Indies 172-4 in the last over.
There was heartbreak for the opener though, as he slumped to the ground, having been bowled just one short of England's first ever Twenty20 century.
He can take some comfort though, that he is now England's top individual scorer in International T20 cricket, beating Eoin Morgan's 85 not out against South Africa.
Hales and Bopara also take the honours for the highest T20 partnership, as they added 159 for the second wicket, as England won at a canter.
Earler, the West Indies, with Dwayne Bravo and Keiron Pollard in full swing, took England to all parts in their final seven overs, being especially brutal against the spin options of Samit Patel and Graeme Swann.
