'Paraody' Twitter Account Blamed

A made up twitter account, appearing to look like it has been written by England batsman Kevin Pietersen, could be at the center of the latest row with the star batsman, which is leading to time being called on his test career during the next couple of weeks....

Following the drawn second test at Headingley, Pietersen was clearly at odds with certain factions behind the scenes of the England Cricket Team, and hinted strongly, that he was on the verge of calling it quits in all forms of the game.

One of the most interesting points of the interview, was his point that there were issues in the dressing room and that is was difficult being in there.

Now it has come to light that Pietersen could well be upset over a fake Twitter account which kept posting tweets describing 'KP' as a genius, and that other players were there to just make up the numbers.

It isn't the account itself which appears to have upset Pietersen, but the fact that other England players, were known to be following the account, and also repeating what was being put.

Suspicion first fell on another player in the dressing room being behind the account, but tweets posted during the second test, meant it was impossible that someone in the same team, could have been posting, due to Mobile Phones being banned from cricket dressing rooms, whilst play was underway.

Some of the posts featured went along the lines of :-

"All these gold medals makes me wish Cricket was in the Olympics. If it was, in 4 years I'll be South African again so we would have a shout."

"People who say Test Cricket is the pinnacle haven't played IPL in front 80,000, slapping Indian medium pacers about at a 141% strike rate."

"We've lost 5 Tests this year and to be honest, KP doesn't want to be associated with a team full of losers. Read into that what you will."

The 'fake' account has now been closed down in light of the row.
