Billy's Trumpet 'Banned' From Trent Bridge

It's a traditional sound at any major England Cricket match, the trumpet tones of Billy's instrument leading the Barmy Army on a major cheering mission to support our boys out in the field..............

With the most anticipated and talked about Ashes years for many a long time, you would have thought that the powers that be at every test venue (Lord's being the obvious exception) would be laying out the carpet for ALL England supporters to do whatever they can to lend a hand to our team as they do battle with the olde enemey and win every single one of the home test matches out of the ten back to back Ashes games over the next six months.

One, however, is not playing ball, and that is the vital first test venue of Trent Bridge, who have told Billy that he is welcome to come along, but that his trumpet must remain back in his B&B in Nottingham.

It's a crying shame, which has drawn outrage from ex England skipper Michael Vaughan, who wrote on his twitter account "The Gabba,Adelaide Oval,WACCA,MCG and the SCG allowed @billbarmytrump to produce his magic.Trent Bridge doesn't!!!! #LetBillyBlowhisTrumpet."

We have found a petition set up to support the movement to get Billy playing at Trent Bridge, and we urge all our readers to vote to hear the trumpet. Is there any greater feeling for the eleven hero's on the field to hear the supporters belting out their own version of Jerusalem, led superbly by Billy and his trumpet.
