No 'Hot Spot' in Ashes This Winter

England former Captain Andrew Strauss has backed Channel Nine's decision not to use 'hot spot' in the upcoming Ashes series down under this winter. The system proved to be flawed during the recent series in England, with the owner of hot spot even suggesting at one point, that batsmen were trying to 'cheat' his product, by putting clear tape on their bats......
"Hot Spot just creates confusion," Strauss told BBC Radio 5 live. "Sometimes it shows up, sometimes it doesn't, so no-one really trusts it."
"Hot Spot is not 100% conclusive, If you're going to use technology, you want to make sure that it's giving you a definitive answer, one way or the other."He concluded.
Owner Warren Brennan, who caused fury amongst players in the summer, when he said players were trying to get round his technology, appears to have softened his view somewhat, and is keen now to develop the system in order it becomes 100% reliable.
He is hoping to introduce HD camera's from 2014 to aid his system.
