England will start their World Twenty 20 World Cup in Perth on October 26th 2020, against one of the qualifying teams from a pre-tournamanet qualifying event to be held later this year.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 will take place from 18 October to 15 November 2020. Hosts Australia will play the opening match of the Super 12 stage of the tournament on Saturday 24 October under lights at the SCG in a blockbuster match-up against the world’s top-ranked team, Pakistan.
The first men’s semi-final will take place at the SCG on Wednesday 11 November, with Adelaide Oval hosting the second semi-final the following night. Like the women’s final earlier in the year, the men’s final will be played at the MCG, on the evening of Sunday 15 November 2020.
England will head to Sydney following their opening match at the newly built Perth Stadium, where they will face South Africa on Friday 30th October at the SCG.
From there, they will then face a partisan 90,000 crown at the MCG against India, in what could be a defining match of the group on Sunday 1st November 2020.
England's final group game of the Super 12's, will be against another qualifer on Saturday 7th November at the Adelaide Oval, before which, they will face Afghanistan on Wednesday 4th November in Brisbane.
The venues, altough at iconic Australian test grounds, will test England's loyal support as they are faced with numerous internal flights just for the group games, and that is before we even head to the knock out stages, should England get there of course.
We will have news of travel packages and discussion on flights etc, once the end of 2019 is approaching.
ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2020 Local Organising Committee CEO Nick Hockley said: “We’re so excited to be able to let fans all around Australia and the world know when and where their teams will play, so they can start planning now. “World Cups are all about bringing people together. We know that passionate fans of all generations and cultures will travel from near and far to support their teams and that they will receive the warmest of welcomes in our wonderful host cities.”
