Surrey’s chairman of cricket Richard Thomson has left his post after three seasons. While in his post Surrey have won three major trophies and he played a vital role in the creation of ‘Surrey cricket’.
Mickey Stewart has agreed to take over from Thomson with immediate effect but only on a short term basis.
Thomson will remain a general committee member, which he has been since 1999, and non-executive Director of Kennington Oval Ltd. He has chaired six benefits and worked closely with the Surrey playing staff over the past 15 years.
