Brown Blows Leics

Ali Brown hit Surrey won their second tote sport division two match in three days as they beat Leicestershire by 6 wickets at the Brit Oval. Brown and Ramprakash (69) put on a massive stand of 166 as Surrey reached their target with 5.3 overs to spare.

Leicestershire won the toss and decided to bat. Surrey claimed an early wicket as Maddy was caught superbly at square leg by Stuart Walters with Azhar Mahmood the bowler for 11. Azhar and Murtagh continued to build up pressure as New and Ackerman failed to score quickly inside the 15 overs. They had added 69, when New was caught by Brown with Doshi the bowler. Mongia fell for a duck and the foxes were 85 for 3. Ackerman and Habab then added 78. Ackerman reached 78 before he was caught by Ramprakash with Doshi taking his second wicket. Habib was next to go for 52. Nixon (47) and Snape (25) scored valuable runs to help the foxes reach 258 for 5 from their 45 overs.

James Benning was the first Surrey wicket to fall as he was caught behind with Gibson taking the wicket for 7. Batty (21) and Walters (25) both fell after falling to capitalise on good stars. Ramprakash and Brown then added a massive stand of 166 as they guided Surrey to their second victory in three days. Ramprakash made 69 as he fell just before the end of the match with the score on 231. Ali Brown was the match winner as he struck 108 not out. Azhar Mahmood hit a useful 22 not out as he struck some late bounders to put the result beyond doubt as Surrey won by a comfortable margin of 6 wickets with 5.3 overs to spare.
