Trott ton too good

Jonathan Trott hit 101 as Warwickshire beat Surrey by 68 runs in the day night match at Edgbaston. Trott shared in a partnership of 144 with Troughton, who made 82. Surrey could only make 224 all out, with Rikki Clarke top scoring with 42.
Warwickshire won the toss and decided to bat. Night and Carter put on 39 for the first wicket. Night fell for 6 as he was bowled by Dernbach. Carter was next to go for a quick fire 51 from just 30 balls, with Dernbach taking his second wicket. Trott and Troughton then added 144 for the third wicket. Troughton made 82 from 61, while Trott top scored for the bears with 101. Despite 4 late wickets from Rikki Clarke, Warwickshire still made 292 for 8 from their 45 overs.
urrey slipped to 39 for 2 as openers Benning and Batty were dismissed cheaply. Butcher and Ramprakash took the score to 73, when Ramprakash fell caught behind to Anyon, who also took the wickets Butcher and Mahmood to leave the lions 153 for 6. Rikki Clarke capped a good all round performance as he top scored for Surrey 42. Chris Murtagh made a useful 30 not out in his second appearance for Surrey. However the lions were bowled out for 224 leaving them with a 68 run defeat.
