An Outstanding Start

Perhaps chastened by their dismal capitulation against Somerset the previous day, Yorkshire hit the ground running against the formidable Nottinghamshire Outlaws with a pyrotechnics batting performance. Mindful of the fact that the visitors had only just won the Royal London One Day Cup, the Vikings had to be at their best, and from a batting point of view the hosts did indeed score a perfect ten. Chief architect of the demolition of the in-laws was Adam Lyth who clearly seems more at home in one-day cricket than in the longer version. Meanwhile Shaun Marsh also enjoyed an impressive debut. Maybe the only thing that Yorkshire did wrong was not save some of their runs bonanza for the next match against Derbyshire Falcons!
