1983 Season - Sound Familiar?

I have found an interview with Brian Rose and Hugh Wilson before the start of the 1983 season; copy attached.
There is a strong similarity to the current season as the first question posed to Brian Rose is "Can this be the year you win the County Championship?"
We had a new bowler in Hugh Wilson (Jack Brooks 2019) and England was still looking for quick bowlers.
As Paul Simon once sang "After changes upon changes we are more or less the same".

Well, even if we don't win the Championship this year, our current committee simply do not have the option of making as big a post-season howler as they did in 1983 when they gave Botham the captaincy.
