2019 SOMERSET CLUB CRICKET

Over the course of last weekend, when I was taken for a car ride, I observed the first sighting of some 'flannelled fools in whites' playing a game on a lush looking field in deepest Somerset.

Yes, the season is underway at club level and it offers so much to the casual observer.

A few years ago, a Grockles correspondent would write reports on a club game that he had attended on a Saturday. Sadly, he was missing from our screens last year, but it is I feel always interesting to know what is happening at grass roots level, particularly when some of our Academy lads and even members of our professional staff are playing.

So, if on a day when not much else is taking place, I feel sure that we would welcome any news on what is happening far away from the CACG.

As at the end of last season Keith was still around and watching local cricket. He often watches at Downend, however i seen him at Bath v Bridgwater in August where he was most impressed watching young Will Smeed!

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the update. It's good to hear someone simply found something else to do rather than popped off this mortal coil.

Blimey. Not seen you post for some time, RR (although my blimey was in response to Max’s antics rather than you posting)

Well done Ed. Tregs 0-54 and 25 in WsM's narrow loss to Winterbourne by 247 runs. Big win for Bridgwater without Max who was injured apparently.
