At Derbyshire, their deals to sign Sean Abbott as an overseas player for all formats in the first half of the 2020 season and to sign Ben McDermott as an overseas player for the two limited-overs competitions in 2020 have been deferred until 2021.

Kent’s signing of Matt Henry as their overseas player for their first seven County Championship matches of the 2020 season has been cancelled.

Perhaps this thread should simply be retitled "Going Nowhere"!

Gloucestershire have signed Qais Ahmed-
[www.bbc.co.uk]

Having already confirmed that the deal to sign Cheteshwar Pujara as an overseas player has been cancelled, Gloucestershire have announced that the same fate has befallen the deals to sign Qais Ahmed and Andrew Tye, although I am struggling to find any trace that they had announced the signing of Tye.

Subject to the required paperwork being completed, Vernon Philander will sign for Somerset as a Kolpak player, although it is unclear how many seasons his contract would be for

The deal for Vernon Philander to play for Somerset in the 2020 season has now been cancelled, although their director of cricket Andy Hurry is hopeful that Philander can begin playing for them in a subsequent season.

With overseas players contracted for this season, cant see many, if any turning up.
Travel wont be easy, cant see much of the season going ahead as planned, and, clubs just wont have the money to pay them. And, I cant see many returning next season with cash flow as it stands at the moment.
All big things that counties will take onto consideration.

Michael di Venuto’s time as Surrey head coach has effectively come to an end, as his contract was due to expire in March 2021, but it has been announced that he will not fly to London from where he is currently staying in Tasmania in the event of county cricket being able to take place in 2020.

Tim Bresnan leaves Yorkshire. Still planning to play.

His innings at Lord's in 2016 must be one of the best I have seen, given the context of the match. Who knows what would have happened if Yorkshire had been bowled out cheaply and thereby been out of the race?

Bresnan to Sussex?
Join up with old coach and maybe get his own coaching badges?
Return to the Yorkies as coach in the future?

Marnus Labuschagne has agreed to return as Glamorgan’s overseas player for the 2021 and 2022 seasons around his Australia commitments. Their director of cricket, Mark Wallace, is hopeful that the club will see a lot of him due to the fact that Australia tend to play little or no cricket during the county season, although the possibility of Australia arranging overlapping series should not be seen as the only threat to the chances of him playing for them extensively, as the fact that he is currently ranked 3rd in the ICC Test Batting Rankings must increase the chances of Cricket Australia restricting his availability or of him getting signed by Twenty20 leagues around the world. He certainly is more renowned now compared to when he first arrived at Glamorgan.
