Another disturbing piece of news attached to franchise rubbish....
Andrew Gale,Yorkshire coach, has joined the Leeds franchise rubbish for the term of the soap opera, and then returning to Yorkshire after,is this a new way forward for coaches, turn your back on the County,go to franchise rubbish for a few more £££ and then return?
Also been mentioned the coaches from Kent and Lancs are rumoured to be doing same, along with Somerset.
I sincerely hope this doesn't happen for us.

Another pay cheque Beefy the outcome of which is uncertain. Good position for a spot of cherry picking an attraction.

Have seen, that, during franchise soap opera time, there will be no 2nds red ball cricket being played.
So,not only does this utter drivel harm the first team it also screws up 2nd eleven cricket.Dont you just love the clowns doing this to our wonderful game??

Oh great.

Some of the second XI includes 16-18 year olds who are still at school, so that should nicely prevent any of them from playing in their first games where they get to bat for more than 50 overs, or participate in a game lasting more than one day.

I suppose sides would struggle to raise a team.

Latest thing,in year 2021 there is a big rumour the County Championship is to run along side the franchise rubbish.
The fools really are doing their best to kill of the real game for £££££

Worse than that, they are considering halving the number of points for those games.....so an early season run of wins could make you champions because theres no points left.

I have mixed feelings about the idea of playing the County Championship at the same time as The Hundred, as although it would obviously mean that many counties would have depleted line-ups (with some counties affected more than others, thus compromising the integrity and the quality of the competition), it would at least mean that the many groups of people who would like to see the competition take place in the prime summer months instead of nearly entirely at the margins of the season would get their wish. It would also probably ensure that little or none of the county 50-over competition would clash with The Hundred, which would be good news for those fearful that England will enter the 2023 World Cup considerably less prepared than in their successful 2019 campaign.

Cricinfo has carried some of Ashley Giles’ comments from an interview in The Cricketer on this subject.

However, given a choice between the Championship or the county 50-over competition being compromised as a result of overlapping with The Hundred, I would prefer the 50-over competition to be compromised, especially if playing Championship matches in this period would mean that matches would be played with fewer points available. If fewer points are available, then that wouldn’t be a great sell for the product, and it wouldn’t be entirely fair for the integrity of the competition if some counties have most of their players available, while other counties have lost many of their players to The Hundred. If a heavily-depleted Sussex side beat a full-strength Leicestershire side during the Hundred period, then it would be unfair to give Sussex a reduced points haul just because of the timing of the match.

Although this latest crazy idea from you know who (I cant even put those initials down now),isn't due to start until 2021,how are any county going to persuade any player to join them to play in a depleted County Championship?
They really are doing their damnest to ruin red ball cricket, its about time those 2 blokes resigned from their posts.
Seriously,enough is enough.
They are the only 2 who dont appreciate the great County Championship.Mind you,Giles seems to be getting on their jolly trip lately, looking to jump in one pair of shoes maybe?
When I was at the parliamentary meeting on 23rd Oct,the 2 were sitting just to my right, and they just oozed smelly stuff.
This latest piece of possibly ruining red ball really is the last straw.
RESIGN,BOTH OF YOU.

Rumours circulating that the 100 end blocks won't be included on Mx, plus presumably Esx and Northants cards. All go aaaahhh.

You can tell the ICC...Idiots Controlling Cricket, have been on the Christmas sauce already.
Their latest thing, along with the clowns at ecb, their aussie counterparts and the all powerful BCCI might be planning a 50 over 'super series' each year from year 2021.
England,Australia,India, and one other (?) will play eachother, every year in a round Robin series.
[b]WARNING
The BCCI,who are doing their best to rule all cricket, are bad for your cricket health.

All these countries are doing,is chasing the golden £££,and, just like what is happening here with the 💯 rubbish, eventually shoving smaller test playing nations to one side.
This can't be allowed to happen.

And now another rumour flying around is the County Championship to revert back to one division in couple of years.
Dont know how much strength in this one,but no idea how that would work.
Maybe play eachother once, then the next year reverse the fixtures.
Another fantastic idea from the prize plonker who has gained a CBE for screwing up our wonderful game.

It's like they've not thought of why they have home grounds! On a lighter note, an excerpt from something I'm reading: Behind me a band of unruly pensioners were clearly aiming to be served with their own ASBO before the end of the day’s play. Kent reached 100 for 2. “Don’t clap the hundred!” shouted one of them. “We hate The Hundred!”

So,the fools in charge have finally released prices of tickets for the 💯 rubbish.
We,Middlesex members, along with other lucky county club members get a priority chance to purchase the tickets (if anyone does!).
Prices can be changed by the day and game as well, let's make it even more confusing for those who havent attended a game yet.
The clueless mob in charge of this devils game never cease to amaze me!

Expect prices to get cheaper and cheaper.

The ECB can't afford to have too many empty seats, so if needs be will probably give them away for free if they have to, to give the impression it's a success.

In other Blundred news, the likes of Steve Smith and David Warner may be withdrawn, as Australia have a series against Zimbabwe at the same time.

And,this news about the Aussie players maybe (hopefully),missing the 💯 rubbish, and the BCCI not allowing their players to be on the bandwagon, things get better for the clowns who organised this rubbish.

It is hardly a surprise that several Australians may miss part or all of the The Hundred due to their country being set to play a series which clashes with the tournament, as it is - and has always been - part and parcel of any English summer that overseas players are liable to becoming unavailable as a result of their country playing series. At the time of the year in which The Hundred is set to be played, at least one country will usually be engaged in a tour of England, while often other countries will be engaged in series elsewhere. At least this player unavailability is causing something other than county cricket to suffer this time!

Proponents of The Hundred have often expressed their hope that the tournament could rival the IPL, but the difference is that most countries seem to be reluctant to arrange series during the IPL, whereas there is little reluctance to arrange series around the time of The Hundred. There is no way that India would arrange a series that clashes with the IPL, but England are set to play Test matches during The Hundred.

It will be interesting to see how many county members take the opportunity to buy tickets for The Hundred during the early window. If not many members buy tickets, hopefully that will generate some publicity. It will also be interesting to see if Middlesex post on social media about this early window, as I imagine that the comments to such posts would mainly be negative.

Have worked out my expense for this 💯 rubbish from tickets etc.
Spending exactly nothing, zero pounds and zero pence.
Great saving.

ECB has announced prices. Family ticket 26 quid. County members get priority when tickets go on sale next Wednesday.

Under 16's 5 quid. Under 5's free,

Most adult tickets are 30 quid. Ticket prices for London venues a touch dearer and dependent on which day of the week anywhere.

Aim is 60/65% of ground capacity.

First game July 16. Oval Invincibles versus Welsh Fire.
