After a nervy win over Ireland to start their hectic summer, England were held up by the rain in London, as their opening ODI match with Pakistan was finally called off into the night sky, with the visitors on 80-2 from 19 overs.
The day wasn't a total washout though, as Jofra Archer impressed with figures of 4-2-6-1 on his home debut in England colours, and further enhanced his reputation with a hostile opening spell.
England bowler Liam Plunkett spoke to the BBC on Jofra Archer: "Jofra is obviously a class act. He bowled really nicely and with pace today."
"He smashed the right areas and took the wicket. It looks quite easy for him - he ambles in and bowls at 93mph."
"With him in your squad you will be a better team." Plunkett concluded.
There are still concerns for England however, with opener Jason Roy still out with injury, to go alonside the fallout from Alex Hales being removed from the squad, during the World Cup get together, ahead of the trip to Ireland.
