The Basics

Every player gets points for runs scored, wickets taken, and catches/stumpings. Batting order is unimportant. Any number of substitutions may be made through Feb 8 (before the tournament starts). Substitutions after that will be limited as described below.

Rules and Playing Conditions

The basic rules of the SNSS Game are simple. You need to select a team of 11 players. These players will score points for you based on the amount of runs they score, wickets they take and stumpings and catches they manage during the tournament. They may also score bonus points or suffer penalty points depending upon their scoring rates as batsmen and their economy rates as bowlers. Entering and selecting a team takes only a few minutes.

You must select a team of 11 players. Your selected squad must conform to the following format:

  • 5 Batsmen
  • 1 Wicketkeeper
  • 1 All-Rounders
  • 4 Bowlers

How do my players score points?

The Points Scoring System for the Game is as follows:

BATTING: (All players per match whether dismissed or not)

Every 5 runs scored: 1 point
Bonus points as follows:

  • 50-99 runs: 5 points
  • 100-149 runs: 10 points
  • 150-199 runs: 15 points
  • 200+ runs: 20 points

Scoring Rate Bonuses/Penalties (only applies to innings of 20 or more):

  • 80.00 or more: + 4 points
  • 70.00 to 79.99: + 2 points
  • 60.00 to 69.99: NIL
  • 50.00 to 59.99: -2 points
  • Less than 50.00: -4 points

FIELDING:

Each catch: 5 points

WICKETKEEPING:

Each stumping: 5 points

Bonus points for 4+ catches and/or stumpings: 10 points

BOWLING:

Each wicket: 6 points

Bonus points:

  • 4 wickets: 5 points
  • 5 wickets: 10 points
  • 6 wickets: 15 points
  • 7+ wickets: 20 points
  • Hat-trick: 20 points
Economy Rate Bonuses/Penalties (only applies if at least 3 complete overs are bowled):
  • 3.50 runs per over or less: + 4 points
  • 3.51 to 4.50 runs per over: + 2 points
  • 4.51 to 5.50 runs per over: NIL
  • 5.51 to 6.50 runs per over: - 2 points
  • 6.51 or more runs per over: - 4 points
Substitutions

You may replace a maximum of 1 player through the end of the pool stage, and a maximum of 1 player from then through the end of the Super Six stage.

For each substitution not used, you get a bonus of 20 points.

Non-Appearances

Any selected player who does not appear in one of his country's matches during the Game, for any reason, will score 3 points.

Abandoned Matches

If at least one ball is bowled in a match which is subsequently abandoned, for any reason, then every selected player will score whatever fantasy points he earned for that match, if any, prior to the abandonment of the match.

If a match is abandoned without a ball being bowled, for any reason, then each selected player will score 3 points in respect of that match.
