Historic Holkar Stadium Makes Test Debut

Holkar Stadium in Indore, the home of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association, became the 22 Test venue in India... But unlike many 1-Test venues  this new venue should become a permanent fixture on the Test circuit.  It has a rich history as well as excellent facilities located right in the middle of the City, making it an ideal Test cricket venue.

• It rained on the night of the team’s arrival at Indore. Before boarding the flight, the talk was around how Indore was gearing up for its very own Test debut. It was expected to be mad, fanatic and crazy. All of it in a nutshell was right there to be experienced the moment a bunch of cricketers stepped foot on the arrival terminal of the airport. Cameras were out, the flashes were blinding and the fans obviously had their front camera on. As members from the Indian team made their way into the team bus, a few fans had already shouted their hearts out for one glance from the Indian captain.
  
  Headphones on, away from the madness around him, Virat would smile at the crowd and their night was made - atleast for that night one would assume. The madness only continued as streets were flocked with people who were out in the rain with their camera flashes on to get a peek behind those tainted glasses of the team bus. ‘Just one wave, please’ begged one of the eyes, a wave followed and a flying kiss was thrown back at the team bus. Yes, it was time for action to unfold in a couple of days’ time but with so much eagerness? Indore had geared up for this day for long, the Holkar stadium was prepped up for its Test debut and a glimpse of the men who matter in whites.
