Killamarsh take the Mallen Trophy

Batting first Cavaliers were well served by Danny Frankson (37) and Tony McKenzie (23) who both batted well as their side reached 152 for 8 from their allotted 40 overs. All the Killamarsh attack bowled tidily with Parmindar Mudhar (2 for 15), Rodney Cook (2 for 30), Peter Allen (2 for 26) and Cameron Belshaw (1 for 32) sharing the wickets between them.

Killamarsh then knocked off the required runs for the loss of Rob Carlisle (25) and skipper Mark Bull (20) with Australian Cameron Belshaw batting brilliantly to register an unbeaten 45 and Peter Allen (37 n.o.).

Cameron Belshaw was selected as Man of the Match for his wicket, two catches and his excellent not out innings.

Thanks must go to Kiveton Park who did a magnificent job in staging the final, the umpires Harry Fidler and Brian Whitlam and to the supporters of both sides who made it such a pleasurable occasion with their friendly banter and knowledgeable attitude throughout the match.
