England have awarded the first ever 12-month central contracts to nine
players. They including 39-year-old Alec Stewart, only a year after he was
overlooked for this summer's contracts. Nasser Hussain, Mark Butcher, Andrew Caddick, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley
Giles, Matthew Hoggard, Marcus Trescothick and Michael Vaughan are the
other recipients of the 12-month deals.
