Langer Set To Face England

Justin Langer is poised to skipper Western Australia's side for the three-day match starting on Monday, with Brad Williams also a favourite to be named.

Williams is prime candidate to replace Jason Gillespie in the first Ashes match if he fails to recover from a calf strain.

And with experienced seamer Jo Angel and explosive batsman-wicketkeeper Ryan Campbell are also likely to be included, there is plenty for England to think about.

But Hussain said: "Nothing that has happened so far has surprised me - there are no easy games out here.

"All these lads we've played against are very fine players. They wouldn't be playing at this level if they weren't, and I knew it would be mine and the team's biggest challenge over here.

"There are no easy sessions against their main side and they will come at us with bat and ball so it was almost nice that the conditions tested us in the two-day match, but we have to slowly improve. We can't just say everything will be all right for the Test match."

England hope Glamorgan fast bowler Simon Jones can make his first full appearance since suffering a side strain on his Test debut against India at Lord's last July having made important progress in the nets since the arrival in Perth.

Jones claimed two for 53 from his eight overs during the 58-run opening defeat at Lilac Hill but was rested for the two-day drawn match with WA and is expected to be given his chance in next week's match.

"We're getting to the stage where we're going to have to find out how fit Simon is," said Hussain.

"He's bowled pretty well in the nets and as long as he doesn't deteriorate, I think there's a good chance he could play."
