was delighted at the way his knee had responded to its first big test
after scoring 127 in England's drawn match against Queensland. His form and fitness are a boost to the tourists ahead of the first
Ashes Test, which starts on Thursday. Vaughan was on the field either fielding or batting for most of the
three days against Queensland. "I'm delighted with the way it's gone," he said. "It was probably the perfect game for me with four or five sessions in
the field, and three or four out there batting - it was a true test of
whether the knee is fit and it's come through really well. "I was a bit concerned before the match, like any injury you're a bit
concerned when you come back, but it got stronger with every hour in the
field on the first day and I grew in confidence from that." England reached 322 for seven in reply to Queensland's 582 all out
before bad light brought an early end to the three-day match in Brisbane.
