NatWest No-No For Read

Read was widely tipped to be named in the England one-day squad on Thursday for the NatWest Challenge against Pakistan.

But this now looks unlikely after picking up the injury in Nottinghamshire Outlaws' National League victory over the Sussex Sharks at Horsham on Sunday.

Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell said: "It's really bad luck for Chris, because he's made an excellent start to the season.

"I believe if he was fit he would have been named as England wicketkeeper - and I hope once the thumb heals he will be involved in the national set-up."
