Royals Claim Second Place

Worcestershire Royals beat the Notts Outlaws by 81 runs at Trent Bridge to claim the runners-up spot in NUL Divison 1 behind the Glamorgan Dragons.

The Royals made good progress with the bat during their innings,Ben Smith (61) and David Leatherdale (66) both making vital half centuries in a total of 251-6 despite Notts debutant Charles Shreck taking 5 wickets.

During the Outlaws innings,the Royals bowlers matched the performance made by the batsmen with Gareth Batty bowling superbly,ending up with 4 for 36 as Notts were bowled out for 170 with more than 4 overs remaining. During the Outlaws innings only 5 of their batsmen managed to get into double figures as wickets fell regularly with Jason Gallians score of 47 being their only significant score posted.
