Sheriyar Leaves

It has today been announced by Worcestershire CCC that the final year of Alamgir Sheriyar's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent.

The loss of Sheriyar,29,will surely come as a suprise to many of the Worcestershire faithful as it was felt he was finally coming back to his best.

Speaking to the official Worcestershire site,wccc.co.uk,Worcestershire Director Of Cricket Tom Moody said “Whilst we are sorry to lose Alamgir, he clearly feels his future lies elsewhere and we do not wish to stand in his way at this stage of his career.”

During his first class career Sheriyar took over 400 wickets.This move now only emphasises the point that WCCC are woefully short of bowlers,hopefully this will be eradicated by the signing of 1 or 2 overseas front-line bowlers ready for the start of next season.
