Aussie Joins List Of New Recruits

WCCC have completed the signing of 28 year old Australian fast bowler Mark Harrity.Harrity,who plays for Aussie side South Australia,is an experienced domestic player who has consistently taken wickets in Australia's domestic game.

Left armer Harrity is seen by some as one of Australian domestic cricket's most dangerous bowlers,fiery and wholehearted and genuinely quick.The unexpected signing has come as a shock to some of the New Road faithful after the previous signings of South Africans Nantie Hayward and Andrew Hall,both experienced international players.

Director of cricket,Tom Moody,is thought to have played a major part in the signing of Harrity due to his vast knowledge of the Australian domestic scene.Speaking from Australia,Moody said "I’m thrilled that Mark has decided to take up this opportunity at Worcestershire. He will provide us with the left arm variation that we recently lost with Alamgir Sheriyar’s departure to Kent. Mark will also surprise not only opposition batsmen but many cricket followers with his genuine pace." Harrity does however hold a British passport so is eligible to play for the club without being classified as one of WCCC's two regulation overseas players.

The signings of three potentially world class players can only please the WCCC fans as the club hope to avenge last seasons near miss on promotion.
