Lancashire set to sign Hooper

Lancashire are set to complete the signing of former West Indies captain Carl Hooper as a temporary replacement for Harbhajan Singh, who is set to be out for around another five weeks.

The County had previously denied that they were set to sign Hooper, 36, although did admit that he was one of the options being considered. The former West Indian skipper retired from international cricket after he was replaced as captain by Brian Lara.

Hooper, who bats up the order and bowls off-breaks, has previously played in England for Kent and is set to make his debut against Middlesex on Friday.
