Swann leads Lancashire to first win of season

73 not out from the recalled Alec Swann gave Lancashire Lightning their first win of the season at Chester-le-Street. After reducing the home side to 186-6, Lancs won by 5 wickets with 10 balls to spare.
After Durham won the toss and elected to bat, good bowling from Flintoff (3-46) and Hogg (1-22) kept the score down, although the young bowler failed to complete his overs and has picked up an injury which could see him miss the forthecoming matches. Gary Pratt offered the most resistance for the home side with an unbeaten 66, whilst John Wood took 2-42 against his former County.
Swann, batting in a new position for him at 3, paced his innings well despite seeing Iain Sutcliffe and Mark Chilton fall to the new ball. Andrew Flintoff upped the run rate with 42 from just 24 balls before Swann and skipper Warren Hegg finsihed the job.
Lancashire travel to Devon in the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy on Wednesday.
