City through to final after derby victory

Lincoln City are through to the Lincolnshire Senior Cup final after Ollie Ryan gave City a 2-0 victory at Blundell Park. Ryan scored either side of the half time mark and despite apparantly being second best for most of the match, it is the Imps who will face Scunthorpe in the final.

Both of Ryan's goals came from defensive errors from the Mariners and Ryan beat goalkeeper Murray on both occasions to send the Imps through to the final. Grimsby fielded a squad with several first teamers in the squad making the victory even more impressive.

It was the 6th meeting between the 2 sides in the last 12 months in various competitions and this was just the 2nd victory that the Imps have had during this time. We'll bring you news on the final as it's released but this is the first friendly where the Imps' haven't conceeded and is an improvement on the 3-1 defeat to Gainsborough on Monday.
