Shock! Lincoln draw Grimsby

Lincoln City were drawn to play Grimsby Town in the 1st Round of the JP Trophy and it will be the 9th meeting in 2 years. City were almost guaranteed a local derby and the game will take place at Sincil Bank just 2 short months before the Mariners return for a league game.

Since being relegated to this division 2 years ago, City have faced the Mariners 8 times. Only one of the meetings has ended as a draw, City's 3 wins have come with a 4-2 win at Blundell Park, last season's 5-0 at Sincil Bank and 2-0 in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup, Grimsby's wins have come with a 3-0 thrashing at Blundell Park last season, both playoff games and a pre-season friendly last summer to celebrate the Imps' revealing a new away shirt. The game is likely to take place on Tuesday 17th October.
