Is Cryan's City career coming to an end?

With the return of Nat Brown against Barnet, Colin Cryan didn't even make the bench and it could be the end of his City career. After being a near ever present under Keith Alexander, Cryan has made just 4 appearances under the new management system and all of those came from the bench.

Cryan joined the Imps just over a year ago in controversial fashion when the Scarborough Chairman claimed that he was due compensation after Cryan joined the Imps on a free despite being just 23. The clause in the rule being that to claim compensation, Scarborough would have to offer Cryan a new contract by a specific date in May, they hadn't and therefore the rule about compensation became null and void.

In his first year at Sincil Bank, he made 37 appearances in the league, none from the bench but was dislodged towards the end as Lee Beevers came in and permanently took over the right back position. Throughout the summer, Cryan was played along with the youngsters who had a poor record. New management team, John's Schofield and Deehan would play the regular first team in the first half and the youngsters in the second and the 2nd half team undid all the hard work of the first team as they constantly conceded goals, most notably a 3-3 draw at Leicester that City were winning 3-0 bfore half time.

Cyran has featured mainly for the reserves this season but had been on the bench in every game until this Saturday when Nat Brown returned from injury and even Leon Mettam managed to get a place on the bench ahead of Cyran. With City now being spoilt for choice with defenders and with Paul Morgan yet to come back from injury, it could soon see Colin Cryan not picked in the squad at all and for one of last season's most consistant players, it could be the end of life in a City shirt for Cryan, especially as his contract expires in the summer.
