Frecklington signs new contract

Lincoln City's recent run of good news continued as midfield Lee Frecklington secured a new 2 year extension to his contract. With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, many Imps fans feared we would lose Frecklington on the cheap due to recent Premiership scout.

The midfielder, who made his Imps debut against Telford in the LDV in the 2003/4 season, has become one of the most vital players in City's squad this season and has been scouted by several Premiership and Championship sides, believed to include Aston Villa, West Brom, Cardiff, Wolverhampton and Luton.

Due to being under 24, City were guaranteed a fee he moved at the end of his contract for a less-than-value amount but thankfully, having signed a new contract means that if any of those clubs do come in for Frecklington, we will get the price we want rather than one decided at a tribunial.
