Imps set to invade Stockport

Lincoln City are set to be backed by a sea of red and white on Saturday afternoon as they take on Stockport COunty. The Imps, who already have one of the best average away followings in the division, are expected to be backed by around 1000 fans after going top of the table on Saturday.

Stockport have opened up a second stand for Imps fans ahead of Saturday's match with the Imps now having just over 2000 seats to choose from rather than the usual 1200 or so at Stockport. If City do fill it, it will be just the 2nd time this season that Imps fans have taken more than 1000 fans to an away game and although that might not sound impressive, we've taken more than 800 to a further 3 and only taken under 400 twice, one of those being at Torquay. City have so far taken an average 790 fans on the road.

After going top last Saturday, City are expected to at least double last seasons 488 fans going to Stockport and hopefully see the same result as the Imps ran out 3-2 winners, it should have been more however as City wasted 3 good chances in injury time to extend the lead.
