Freck gets international call up

Imps young starlet Lee Frecklington has been called up to represent the Republic of Ireland in a B international. The youngster will represent the ROI against Scotland's B side next week and it is yet another step in the rising career of the product of City's youth system.

City haven't had many Irish players over the years, with the most recent being Peter Gain who made Under 21 appearances whilst he was at Spurs. We've had plenty of Northern Irish stars though with Gareth McAuley and Jeff Hughes both representing their country in recent years. Lee Frecklington's call up has come out of the blue and although it's "only" a B international, it's great news for everyone involved and it's another feather in the cap of one of the most exciting prospects in the lower leagues.

Frecklington came out of no-where earlier this calender year, going from a relative unknown to one of the most vital members of a successful Imps' side.
