Frecklington makes his Irish bow

City's exciting youngster, Lee Frecklington made his first international appearance in a "B" game against Scotland. Although the game ended 0-0, the Irish dominated the game and Frecklington got in just over 40 minutes of action, apparantly impressing several Irish officials.

Frecklington, in his first full year of first team action at City, has already been scouted by several Premiership and Championship teams and for a player who was only playing in the reserves 11 months ago, to go to near enough full international team status is a very rare thing indeed. His first cap for the Republic, albeit at only "B" level, came when he was a 51st minute substitute for Darron Gibson of Royal Antwerp.

Frecklington got involved in a few attacking moves in a game that the Irish dominated but he didn't get any shots in himself but made a good name for himself with a solid 40 minute performance.
