Hello Dany, Goodbye Danny

Lincoln City today completed the transfer of Dany N'Guessan from Rangers just hours before releasing striker Danny Bacon. Bacon's departure comes as no surprise as he has never held down a first team place, something that new signing N'Guessan will be hoping doesn't reflect onto him.

Danny Bacon joined City in the summer of 2005 from Hucknall Town just a few months are helping Hucknall to an inevitable defeat in the FA Trophy. The former Mansfield Town player was billed as an exciting player to watch, but City fans rarely got an opportunity to watch the youngster, making just 2 appearances for the Imps in the first month before being loaned out to Burton. He broke his leg there and his season effectively ended.

John's Schofield and Deehan saw promise in the youngster and included him in the first team part of our friendlies, and he even managed to make his first (and only) start for City in this season's curtain-raiser against Notts County. He however became injured again and never got back in the side. Gainsborough Trinity and Worksop are favourites to secure his signature, although he has been training with Mansfield again.

His release came just hours after City completed the transfer of French midfielder Dany N'Guessan. He is expected to go into the squad for the game against Peterborough but it is unlikely that he will start.
