Frecklington rounds off brilliant first full year

Lee Frecklington is the only Lincoln City player in the PFA Team of the Year for the 2006/7 that is dominated by Walsall. The top 2 sides, Walsall and Hartlepool, take up 7 of the 11 places. Wycombe Wanderers take up two with Lincoln and MK Dons both getting just a single player.

Frecklington is in his first full season in the first team and is amongst the favourites to pick up "Player of the Season" when City face Chester on May 5th. 2006 was a great year for Frecklington as he came out of no-where to become a vital part of the Imps' promotion push and he's scored some vital goals. He's scored winning goals against Shrewsbury and Barnet, as well as scoring a contender for goal of the season in League 2 against MK Dons.

It rounds off what has been a great season for Frecklington, who also made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under 21s. It could turn out to be Freck's only full season for the Imps after being linked to several Championship sides over the season.

His inclusion in the PFA Team of the Year is deserved for a near flawless first full season for the Imps.
