Yet another award for first-class Frecklington

Lee Frecklington's season just keeps getting better and better as he was given yet another award on Monday evening. At the Lincoln City Sponsor's Awards Dinner, Frecklington won the "gong" for being voted by his team-mates as Lincoln's Player of the Season, not bad for his first full year.

This award will more than likely mean that Frecklington will have to buy more space in his trophy cabinet after an impressive first full season in the first team. The former Leeds and Norwich trainee came through the ranks at Sincil Bank before bursting onto the first team just over a year ago. He has become a first team regular under John's Schofield and Deehan as the Imps are just 4 games away from a possible promotion.

After representing the Republic of Ireland in a B international earlier this season, dogged displays and some spectacular goals saw him become the youngest player to be included in this season's PFA Team of the Year. He is also one of the favourites to pick up the official "Player of the Season" award on Saturday before the home game against Chester. If he does win that award, then it is likely that he will "do a Ronaldo" and win the "Young Player of the Season" award as well.

Frecklington wasn't the only player to win an award at Monday's ceremony, afterall, it'd be a short ceremony with just one award being given out. Nat Brown won the "Sponsors Home Player of the Season" award, Lee Beevers won the "Website Player of the Season" award, Tom Wilkinson walked away with the "Clubman of the Year" award.

The "Jackson Building Centres Goal of the Season" Award went to Mark Stallard for his strike that rounded off a neat 14 pass move against Swindon Town. That goal is one of the 5 selected for goal of the season, again another award up for grabs on Saturday. His volley that secured a 3-1 victory over Wycombe is another choice in that poll.

The other goals are Lee Frecklington's bullet header that put City 2-0 up at home to Walsall. The youngster also scored my personal favourite goal of the season, a beautiful goal from 25 yards against MK Dons. Scott Kerr rounding off a beautiful passing move against Macclesfield is the final choice.
